Refocus To Improve Your Mood

Yesterday morning I really had to work to regain my happiness power.  It took a while, but I was able to refocus my attention on positive things happening in my life right now in order to get past what was bothering me.

It started when I felt that someone had stepped on my toes and done something that is my job.  In addition, this person stepped in and “corrected” something I had already done.  However in correcting it, he actually made it wrong.

I was surprised at how upset I got by this situation.  I was really steamed as they say.  It really wasn’t that big of a deal, but for some reason it really upset me.  It might be that I’m feeling the effects of a cold and when I’m sick I become very impatient.

I eventually realized that continuing to be upset over this situation – especially since it was minor – so I started working on refocusing my thoughts.  I began thinking about all the good things in my life and about the plans my wife and I have for the next couple of months.

It took a while, but eventually I was able to lighten up my mood and forget about what had upset me earlier.

When you find yourself upset over something, ask yourself if it’s really that important.  If it’s not, work hard to refocus your thinking.  Try to focus on the happy and positive things in your life.  You’ll soon find your happiness power getting stronger and the upset will melt away.

To your happiness!
