Today’s Headline: A Great Day Was Had By All

Recently, my friend Judy McNutt posted the headline above as her status on Facebook.  It got me thinking about how great it would be to see that headline in the news someday.

With all the things going on in the world, and the real headlines we see every day, it’s hard to imagine a day when everyone has a great day.  I’m enough of an optimist, though, to think that it’s possible.

The way to start having those kinds of days is to start with the person you see in the mirror every day.  I’ve written here many times that your happiness can have an influence on those around you.

So finding your happiness power helps not only you but those you are close to.  Then as those people find their happiness it spreads to other people, and to others, and so on.  Imagine happiness spreading from you to others the way a stone tossed in a pool creates ripples that extend outward.

If you’re having a hard time finding your happiness power some days, just imagine the happiness of someone else washing over you like those ripples in the pond.  There’s probably someone close to you that is happy — it may even be someone you don’t know.  Look around for someone with a big smile, or someone who is laughing.  Borrow a little of their happiness — they’ve got plenty to go around.

Then, once you’ve found your happiness again, let it flow out of you to others.  That’s the great thing about happiness, once you’ve got it, you don’t have to cling to it.  Just let it flow through you to the rest of the world.

Someday, I hope soon, we’ll see Judy’s headline above in the daily news.

To your happiness!
