Let’s Focus On Recovery

We get more of what we focus on.

That’s not a new concept.  Everyone involved in personal development and growth has been saying that for years.  I’ve written about it here a number of times.

It’s one of those things that you can actually prove to yourself.  Stay focused on the positive parts of your life and you’ll feel more positive, you’ll see things improve.  Focus on the negative and you’ll get more of the bad stuff.

Don’t Focus On The Bad Economy

worryFor months now, the news on the economy has all been bad – unemployment is rising, the stock market is falling, foreclosures are increasing, retirement funds are being wiped out.

Plus the economic crisis is worldwide; people all around the world are feeling the pinch.

Rather than focusing on how bad the economy is, though, shouldn’t we be focusing on recovery?  Since we get more of what we focus on, if we focus on the recovery of the economy things will start to get better.

I’m not denying that we’re in tough economic times, and I’m not suggesting that we just ignore the problems.  What I am saying, though, is let’s put our focus on making things better.

The government and the media should be talking about recovery, but at this point it doesn’t seem likely that’s going to happen.  They benefit by talking about doom and gloom.

Change Your Focus

moneyStart with your own economic situation.  Stop listening to the doom and gloom.  Rather than focusing on how bad your financial situation is, start looking at how you can improve things.

It may mean changing how you spend your money.  You might have to consider getting a part-time job.

Or, why not take this chance to start your own business.  Businesses that are launched during tough economies are more likely to succeed than those that are started during times of surplus.  There are plenty of resources on the web and elsewhere about how to start and run a business, so I’m not going to spend time here telling you how to do that.

Change your view of the current economic crisis.  Instead of focusing on how bad things are, look for ways to benefit and profit from the current situation.

Throughout history, no matter how bad the economy has been there are always people who benefit.  These are people who look for solutions to the problems rather than focusing on the problem.

Keep your focus on the solutions and you’ll find your own “personal economy” in recovery.

To your happiness!
