It’s Your Parents’ Fault

According to a researcher in Mexico City Happiness May Be Inherited.  So if you’re not happy you can now blame your parents for that.

Why not, lots of people blame their parents for all sorts of things.

But just because lots of people do it, doesn’t make it right.  I can’t remember where I heard the phrase, but eventually there’s a statute of limitations on blaming your parents.

At some point, you need to take responsibility for your own level of happiness and not blame it on your upbringing or your genetics.

Even if there is some genetic component to happiness, we need to overcome any inborn predisposition to unhappiness and learn to be happy in our own lives.

So, if you’re unhappy, don’t blame your parents.  Don’t blame what might have happened in your life before, or even what’s happening now.  Look for ways to boost your happiness power.   I’ve already written about a number of ways to do that and there are countless sources on the web, in your local library, or the corner bookstore.

To your happiness!
